Preparing for your headshot….

How to prepare for your professional headshot session

  1. Bring lots of clothing options for your headshot. It’s better to have and not need it than to need it and not have it.

  2. Get a good nights sleep. As a father of two, I know how hard that can be. It’s OK to be selfish for one night. Ask for help. You’ll thank me later.

  3. Think of this as fun! Because it is fun!

  4. Everyone thinks they have a good side and a bad side, as well as a “I don’t look good in pictures” side. When taking your headshot, I will say “trust me on this… feels weird, looks awesome” So I am going to ask for a bit of trust here and let’s make it happen!

  5. Come into this with an open mind. Most of my clients don’t love being photographed. I don’t take it personally, but I am going to do whatever it takes to make you look great.

  6. To the what to wear side of things. Solid muted colors are awesome. Fitted styles are best here. A little jewelry is fine, but let’s not over do it and distract from you. Remember this is about a solid representation of you. If you have a favorite color you normally wear, wear it!
